Construction

The Terra Moto AMPs GPS Mount starts with three solid blocks of 6061 aluminum, those three blocks are then put on a mill to machine them down to their final form.  We decided that 6061 T6 aluminum would be the material for this part because of its strength and lightweight characteristics.  These two characteristics were important to us.  We needed the the mount to be strong so you can apply a good amount of torque to the bolts without them stripping out.  When your riding off-road you don't want your GPS to rock up and down and chattering when riding on bumpy terrain, which is why you need the mount to be adequately torqued.  We also wanted to keep the mount as light as possible while still being strong enough to withstand all conditions and last for a long time.  After being milled, the Terra Moto GPS Mount is anodized type II class II black.  This anodization process increases durability and resistance to corrosion and scratches.  The Terra Moto GPS Mount is 100% made in the USA.

Orientations

All of us riders have our own preferences and needs which is why it was important to us that the GPS mount had adjustability suit each rider and a variety of bikes.  The GPS mount uses the AMPs bolt pattern which is a 30x38mm bolt pattern.  Our mount has bolt holes to accommodate both portrait and landscape orientations.  The GPS mount has three mounting positions, a neutral positions, +10mm up, and -10mm down.   

Hardware

As always, its very important to us that the hardware is of the highest quality, the Terra Moto GPS Mount comes with all A2 stainless steel bolts and washers.  Since these bikes get muddy, wet, dusty, and everything in between, A2 stainless steel's corrosion and rust resistance combined with its strength made is the perfect option.  Included in the kit are the bolts needed for mounting the GPS mount to the cross bar as well as the fours bolts that are needed to mount the adapter that your GPS unit will clip into.

GPS Fitments

 The Terra Moto GPS Mount is AMPs pattern so it fits a large variety of GPS units.  The GPS mount can also used in combination with a RAM mount.  The 4-bolt AMPs pattern works with many GPS units, however you will need a cradle that that with hold your specific GPS unit.  The cradle then bolts on the Terra Moto GPS Mount.  The Terra Moto AMPs GPS Mount fits the following GPS units:
